Health Care Information
Give Your Voice member Bill Doyle has been working together with Attorneys Vincent Pitta and Anne Maltz to organize a Health Care system for the Families that lost Loved Ones on or After September 11th.
This plan would provide Health Care benefits to those Families who:
- Can not afford a policy
- Are in jeopardy of losing their current Health Care Plan in the near furture
- Not eligible for Cobra coverage
- Can not afford Cobra coverage
Give Your Voice’s Goal is as follows:
To obtain a change in New York State law that would permit the uninsured dependents of victims of the World Trade Center attack to be formed into an insurable group and to obtain government funding for payment of the insurance premiums for such group.
STAGE 1: Information Gathering
Give Your Voice will reach out to the Families to obtain information that is needed to form the “9-11” group policy. We will need at least 500 Family members to present interested Organizations that will participate in the plan. With this information we can obtain logistics and cost of such a policy.
Family members will be ask to fill out a questionnaires listing dependent information for the policy.
Give Your Voice will reach out to the CEOs of Employers who have employees who perished in the World Trade Center attack. Privicy is an issue but this information will be vital to the Families of Organizations that will be terminating health coverage at the end of the year or very near future.
Completed questionnaires are returned to Give Your Voice and our attorneys Vincent Pitta and Anne Maltz to be maintained, crosschecked and collated.
STAGE 2: Funding
Give your voice will present our data to interested Organizations that will sponsor and fund the group policy. There are already Organizations that have contacted us with great interest. We have also received interest in Organizations that would fund this system.
Give Your Voice has obtained commitment from a number of prominent government relations specialists including: Herrick, Feinstein LLP.
We look to our Family members for input and guidance. If you are interested please E-mail MCartier1@NYC.RR.COM and WDOYLE5615@AOL.COM.
