"Remember Me" Project:
Debora Jackson, a freelance artist who has been volunteering at Ground Zero, is working on the "Remember Me" project which includes photos of all the victims of the WTC. The project is intended to remind the world of our loved ones and the true price paid for terrorism.
By posting photographs of victims, full faced, close up, and at eye level she hopes to engage the viewer in a sort of dialogue to really "see" the person who is no longer there. The intent is to remind people that the real loss can only be measured in human terms, not financial ones. She is looking for pictures of the victims, as large of a close up as possible. She will put them on 8 1/2 x 11 or 9 x 14 paper, laminate them, and mount them around the area of Ground Zero (i.e., the site perimeter wooden fences, the sides of the trailers on the Church St. side of the site, the wall the City is said to be building on West Street, and the fences around the Taj Mahal).
If you wish to participate, you can email a photo of your loved one to treeproject@mindspring.com or you can mail your photo to Debora Jackson, 82 Schmerhorn, Brooklyn, NY 11201. Please remember to include your loved ones name and employer.
