I have been informed that there is an article in the November 14, 2001 Daily News on page 51 that states, The City is close to inking a deal with a giant company that would drastically change the site.
The Company named Bechtel had their spokes person Alexander Winslow state that they were very close to taking over the site.
Information on the Construction Companies:
They would be subcontracting to the 3 construction companies
These three are still on site.
-Bovis Lend Lease
-Tully Construction
-Amec Construction Management.
There was a 4th named Turner Construction but is no longer there as of yesterday.
Role Bechtel is taking:
Project Management role for the recovery effort.
Coordinating with the all involved parties, agencies, organizations and We hope that Bechtel will work with us since it our goal to establish representation for the families of the civilians that were lost.
All phone calls Alexander Winslow receives will be captured in notes and he will share with Bechtel Executives. Along with any other calls that come in from other families.
We will be getting phone calls from Bechtel Management about what they intend on doing.
They will find out in a day or two if they receive the deal.
I told him to go to our website to get a background information on our organization.
In addition my Sister called the Mayor's Office and spoke to one of the Mayor's assistants about the conditions of the site. My Sister stated that the Rep. stated and I quote "The Fire Fighters are in the way".
Feel free to contact us on how to contact this rep directly if you would like him to clarify this.
